The KW 500 was really an experiment to see if we could make this format work,and it was a great success!!!
We had 6 cars qualify and some fantastic,close racing.
QUALIFYING:
Riley - LC Torana - Chook chassis - 4.422
Ted - Dodge Daytona * - Tom Thumb chassis - 4.437
Andy - XA Falcon coupe - Tom Thumb chassis - 4.467
Chook - HQ Monaro - Chook chassis - 4.500
Norm 1 - Valiant Charger - DragonCharger chassis - 4.610
Norm 2 - Valiant Charger - Chook chassis - 4.751
(Norm's Charger 2 was withdrawn after qualifying.)
OK,heres the format.
5 cars,5 lanes,5 brackets.
First to 100 laps wins the bracket.
Most bracket wins, wins the race.
Andy won bracket 1. Norm's ancient comm disintergrated and he was out after 20 laps. The Daytona* hit the floor and didn't bounce,so a lot of laps were lost while it was repaired.
Chook won bracket 2 from Riley and Andy.
Riley took out Brackets 3 & 4 with Chook 2nd and Andy 3rd in both .
In the final bracket,Andy and Chook both had tyre trouble,as Riley streaked away for the win !!
